WHAT IS RATEABLE VALUE?
Rateable value is a basically the value of the property based on its location, size and also other similar factors. This is used to determine the business rates payable by the business property owner.
WHAT IS REVALUATION?
Valuation Office Agency reassess the rateable values. This is updated usually every five years. This process is called Revaluation. This needs to be done, as the property market changes and that influence the amount payable in business rates.
If the Valuation Officer changes your rateable value, you will be informed about that. The Valuation Officer will tell you and also will inform the Council.
If you rateable value will be reduced, you will get a refund plus interest where appropriate.
